Pssociate Professor of Education who teaches Multicultural Education, Research Design, Gender Equity Education, and Qualitative Research Methods and advises Master's thesis/project and doctoral dissertations; Chair, Graduate Education; Founder and Editor-in-Chief of two open-access online journals--Electronic Magazine of Multicultural Education (EMME, www.eastern.edu/publications/emme), published between 1999 and 2006, and International Journal of Multicultural Education (IJME, www.ijme-journal.org), inaugurated in December 2007; Author of two books, Adolescent Life and Ethos: An Ethnography of a US High School (1992, Falmer Press) and Autoethnography as Method (2008, Left Coast Press); educational anthropologist whose current research interest includes multicultural education, autoethnography, and female leaders of color in higher education.
