Author Biography

Suresh Appavoo, Dominican University of California

Ar. Suresh Appavoo is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at Dominican University of California (Dominican). Since 2001, Dr. Appavoo has directed the Center for Diversity Initiatives at Dominican. Dr. Appavoo is a highly experienced intercultural and diversity trainer. He has conducted numerous workshops for schools, universities and within the corporate sector. In his capacity as the Director of the Center for Diversity Initiatives, Dr. Appavoo oversees implementation of the Dominican Diversity Action Plan. Dr. Appavoo earned his Ed.D in Multicultural and International Education from the University of San Francisco, a Master’s Degree in International Management from Thunderbird-the Gavin School of Management, and Bachelor's Degrees from the University of the Pacific and Madurai Kamaraj University in South India. Before joining Dominican, he was the Dean of Multicultural Programs at San Francisco University High School. Prior to this position, he served as the International Student Advisor for the University of San Francisco and taught as an adjunct faculty in its School of Arts and Sciences.
