Author Biography

Dr. Hwa Young Caruso, Molloy College

Dr. Hwa Young Choi Caruso was born and educated in Korea. She received a doctorate in College Teaching of Art at T.C. Columbia University (2004), completed a MFA at the University of Connecticut (1991) and a BFA at Ewha Womans University in Seoul (1983). Currently Dr. Caruso is an Assistant Professor of Art at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, Long Island, NY. She lectured and delivered research papers about art history, art education, critical art theory and practice, and cultural diversity at Harvard University, Yale University, Columbia University, New York University, York College, State University of New York at New Paltz, and the Silvermine Art Center. Her articles about art education and art reviews have been published in The Journal of Aesthetic Education, Monograph2 T.C. Columbia University and the Electronic Magazine of Multicultural Education. Hwa Young had solo and group exhibitions at SOHO20 Gallery (Soho, NY), T.C. Columbia University (NY), the University of Connecticut, Northeast Missouri State University (MO), the Ceres Gallery (Chelsea, NY), Steinbaum Krauss Gallery (Soho, NY), Phoenix Gallery (Soho, NY), Exit Art (Soho, NY), New World Art Center (Soho, NY), Chrysler Museum (VA), Springfield Museum of Fine Arts (MA), Berkshire Museum (MA), Slater Museum (CT), Discovery Museum (CT), Mattatuck Museum (CT), Yale University, Clemson University (SC), Austin Peay State University (TN), and other locations.
