The theme of this special issue is "Critical Multicultural Citizenship Education: Student Engagement toward Building an Equitable Society." The issue was co-edited by three guest editors: Dr. Pablo C. Ramirez from Arizona State University, Dr. Cinthia Salinas from University of Texas, Austin, and Dr. Terrie Epstein from Hunter College in the United States.
